Yıldız Entegre Receives 'Environment Award' by Mersin Governorship

Yıldız Entegre continues to reap the fruits of its investments in the environment. In 2019, Yıldız Entegre was awarded by the Ministry of Energy for its success in energy efficiency and received the Environment Award in the Large Scale Companies Category given by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry. Another award was presented to Yıldız Entegre by the Governorship of Mersin. Yıldız Entegre, Türkiye's 45th largest industrial company and the leader of the forest products industry with a turnover exceeding TRY 3.4 billion in the "Türkiye's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises" list recently announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, continues to lead the industry with its investments in environment and efficiency.

Yıldız Entegre recently won the second prize in the Large Scale Enterprises Category within the scope of the "Mersin Environmental Awards" organized by Mersin Governorship, Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mersin Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone and Mersin Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization.

The "Mersin Environment Awards" are organized in three categories: Industrial Changemakers, SMEs and Large Scale Enterprises, with the aim of promoting good practices for the protection of the environment and natural resources, setting an example for the business world by rewarding successful practices and encouraging them. Yıldız Entegre Akdeniz Plant won the second prize in the Large Scale Enterprises category. Akdeniz Plant Manager Fevzi Kıdak received the award from Mersin Deputy Governor Mustafa Atsız.

Akhisar and Kartepe plants also received awards

Yıldız Entegre, which has production facilities in different parts of the world and Türkiye, makes investments to protect the environment and use natural resources in the most efficient way in all its facilities. Stating that they carry out all their activities with the motto "Ağacın İzinde (In the Footsteps of the Tree)", Yıldız Entegre Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager Ercan Şahin said, "We are proud to lead our industry with the latest award our Akdeniz plant received from the Mersin Governorship. We are very happy that our investments in environment and efficiency are rewarded by such prestigious institutions. Yıldız Entegre was recently awarded the "ISO Large Scale Enterprise Environment Friendly Application Project Jury Special Award" within the scope of the "ISO 2018 Environment Awards" given by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry. Yıldız Entegre, which was deemed worthy of the award for the environmentally friendly practices implemented at its Akhisar plants, recycles thousands of tons of waste every year and reduces its carbon footprint with the environmental practices it implements.

Another award Yıldız Entegre won was the 10th anniversary award organized by the Ministry of Energy. It was given at the Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair. Yıldız Entegre, which received the "Certificate of Achievement" from the competition where successful examples in the field of energy efficiency were awarded, was awarded with the "Efficiency Increasing Project Achievement Certificate" for its efforts to reduce energy use and increase efficiency in Kartepe facilities.
