In the footsteps of the tree with Pritzker

The Pritzker Prizes, awarded since 1979, are among the world's most prestigious architecture awards. Distinguished from many other prizes in the field by being awarded to projects that have come to life, the Pritzker Prizes have previously been given to Zaha Hadid, Sir Norman Foster, Tadao Ando, Renzo Piano, Ieoh Min Pei, names well known all over the world.

With the Pritzker Prize, the lifetime achievements of the architects are honored and the works that are awarded the prize earn global interest. However, these names that leave their mark on architecture are chosen among those who make a difference with their productivity, the value they add to their profession and their new perspectives.

Another characteristic of the prizes given since 1979 is that they belong to architects who have not only produced flamboyant and monumental works, but also small works that have found their place in everyday life. Therefore, the Pritzker Prize is awarded to special people who add value to their profession and aesthetic understanding, rather than flamboyance and greatness, and in this respect, positions itself differently.
