Loft Decoration Style Limitless and Spacious

Loft decoration style is a style that emerged in the United States of America in 1960s. Having started with the transformation of old factories, warehouses, and industrial areas into living spaces, this style is also frequently used in ordinary apartments today.

When applying this style, which started with high-ceiling spaces and large and undivided floors, to today’s apartments; it is preferred to remove the walls. Spaces are separated from each other with carpets, lighting techniques, houseplants and furniture, which are used instead of walls to create large and spacious spaces. In this style, the areas except for the bathroom are generally not separated with walls, which make them airy; and thus, the old borders are removed.

In the houses with loft decoration style, wooden and metallic beams and exposed pipes stand out. Wooden-like cupboards and metallic elements are generally used together in kitchens. In other interior spaces, metallic and wooden, geometric furniture and materials are the favorites of this decoration. Plain and simple furniture is emphasized in this style where built-in cabinets and open shelves are also used. Lighting is also very important in spaces; therefore, large windows are used without curtains. Striking and elegant lighting tools are used to delineate the boundaries between these tools and the living spaces. Generally, neutral colors are used and concrete, raw plaster and bricks are preferred on the walls in this style. On the floors, concrete or wooden-like materials are preferred.  

How to Apply Loft Decoration Style?

* You can use wooden-like tables and coffee tables together with industrial furniture.

* You can delineate the boundaries between your living spaces as you desire by using stone sculptures and houseplants.

* You can achieve more spacious living spaces by removing redundant walls.

* You can separate the kitchen from the living room by using a high, wooden island counter and stools.

* You can prefer bricks, wood or raw plaster on the walls.

* You can emphasize the boundaries between your living spaces with different carpets and floor coverings.

* You can prefer to use simple furniture in neutral colors such as gray and brown, standing out with their functionality.

* You can use striking and original lighting tools.
