Yıldız Entegre Continues Its Support for the Earthquake Zone

As one of the leading manufacturers in the forest products industry, Yıldız Entegre is leveraging its scale in Turkey and globally to create social impact under the motto “In Pursuit of Sustainable Goodness.”

Following the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, which affected 11 provinces, Yıldız Entegre has been fulfilling its responsibility to help speed up recovery and healing efforts in the region. From the very first day, the company has been on the ground with a strong sense of unity, solidarity, and responsibility, continuing its support.

Special Class for Children with Autism

In cooperation with the SOBE Foundation, an NGO focused on individuals with autism, Yıldız Entegre has provided support to establish a special education class for children with autism in the container city of Defne, Hatay. This initiative includes preparing the classroom, supplying educational materials, and hiring two trainers. The opening ceremony of the classroom was attended by SOBE Foundation’s President Mustafa Ak, Board Member Targun Polat, Yıldız Entegre’s Assistant General Manager Melike Alkan, and Marketing Director Bengü Metin.

Donation of Wheelchairs to Disabled Individuals

Yıldız Entegre has also continued its support for earthquake victims by collaborating with the Turkish Spinal Cord Paralytics Association (TOFD). Through this partnership, 50 individuals with disabilities who were affected by the earthquake in the region received powered wheelchairs, as well as essential items such as catheters, wet wipes, and adult diapers. During a visit to Hatay with the TOFD team, the company also donated food packages and other supplies to those in need.

Supporting Visually Impaired Earthquake Victim Children

In collaboration with WeWalk, Yıldız Entegre extended its support for visually impaired students by reaching an additional 150 children living in the earthquake zone. This brings the total number of children the company has supported to 250. Along with the smart canes, the company also provided 4 weeks of technology training to help these children integrate more fully into social life.

Melike Alkan, Assistant General Manager of Yıldız Entegre, stated, “With our companies under Yıldızlar Investment Holding, we initially provided in-kind and financial support to address the immediate needs in the earthquake zone. Now, we are collaborating with various NGOs to support individuals who need special assistance, such as children with autism, the visually impaired, and individuals with spinal cord injuries. Our support for these individuals will continue in the upcoming period.”
