Yıldız Entegre, one of the leading manufacturers in the global and Turkish forest products industry, continues its efforts for social good under the motto "In Pursuit of Sustainable Goodness." In collaboration with WeWALK, Yıldız Entegre previously provided WeWALK smart canes to 100 visually impaired students. This time, the company has extended support to 150 children living in the earthquake zone, reaching a total of 250 visually impaired children. In addition to the smart canes, the company also offered a 4-week technology training program to help the children integrate more fully into life. With these two projects, Yıldız Entegre has provided a total of 8 weeks of technology education to date.
Yıldız Entegre, in collaboration with WeWALK, not only donated smart canes and technology education to 150 visually impaired children in the earthquake zone but also hosted the students and their families for a fun day at KidZania after successfully completing the training. On June 19, the students, accompanied by their families, spent a joyful day at the entertainment city KidZania. While the children participated in various activities aimed at developing their senses, the families shared in their joy. Additionally, Kerim and Selim Altınok, who participated as speakers, inspired the children with their life stories and delighted everyone with a musical performance. After these joyful moments, the students who completed the technology training received their WeWALK smart canes and USB headphones from Yıldız Entegre's Marketing Director, Bengü Metin, and WeWALK co-founder, Kürşat Ceylan.
Bengü Metin, Yıldız Entegre's Marketing Director, emphasized the importance of social investments under the motto "In Pursuit of Sustainable Goodness," stating that after the February 6th earthquake, they mobilized all available resources to stand in solidarity with the earthquake victims.
Metin also noted that the project in collaboration with WeWALK now includes earthquake-affected children, adding, “We have gifted smart canes and technology training to 150 visually impaired children in the earthquake zone. After successfully completing their training, our students and their families gathered in the fun environment of KidZania. The children participated in specially selected activities designed to engage their senses, and both they and their families had a great time while receiving their smart canes. The ‘WeWALK’ smart canes and the 4-week training they received will provide significant benefits to these children’s lives and help them integrate into life more easily. We are very happy to be part of this project and to support these children in connecting with such technology.”
