Yıldız Entegre Launches the ‘Architects of the Republic’ Book at Pera Palas Hotel with the Participation of Distinguished Guests

As one of the leading global producers in the forest products industry with 133 years of history, Yıldız Entegre has once again marked a milestone with a significant project. A brand that deeply embraces the principles of the Republic, Yıldız Entegre has contributed to the sector and Turkey with the 'Architects of the Republic' book, which will leave an enduring impact on the architectural field in the 100th year of the Republic.

The launch of the 'Architects of the Republic' book, prepared under the consultancy of Prof. Dr. Suha Özkan, took place on the evening of December 12 at Pera Palas Hotel. The launch was attended by architects featured in the book, their families, and distinguished guests.

The event began with a panel discussion moderated by Yekta Kopan, featuring prominent architects Prof. Dr. Suha Özkan, Doğan Tekeli, whose biography and works are featured in the book, and Melike Altınışık, one of the youngest female architects with international awards. After the discussion, Chef Murat Bozok presented a special dinner menu inspired by dishes loved by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, offering the guests a unique experience. The evening also featured a waltz performance and a live rendition of songs cherished by Atatürk, performed by Özge Erdeniz, which was highly appreciated by the guests.

In her speech at the launch, Melike Alkan, Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Product Development at Yıldız Entegre, stated, “Throughout our 133-year history, we have always aimed to leave meaningful marks behind. Sometimes with the factories we have built and the employment we have provided, and other times with our efforts to bring nature and people together through the 'footprints of the tree' approach, we have succeeded. With the 'Architects of the Republic' book, which we have prepared for our esteemed companions, the architects, we are leaving yet another meaningful mark. This work, which brings together the architects who have contributed invaluable works during the Republic era, will pass on this rich experience to future generations of architects. We dedicate this work to the 100th anniversary of our Republic.”

Mimar Suha Özkan, thanking Yıldız Entegre for its support, said, “During the process of preparing the book, we directly listed the architects who contributed to the Republic era. We kept the list to 100. Curating this selection was a responsibility. The first selection in Turkey was made for the 50th anniversary of the Republic, followed by the 100th anniversary of Atatürk’s birth. Today, Yıldız Entegre took the responsibility of creating an architectural anthology for the 100th anniversary of the Republic. The work, which features iconic buildings and architects that have left their mark on the memories of the Republic from its inception to the present day, was prepared by Yıldız Entegre as a symbol of its responsibility toward the design and architecture world, and it is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
