Fashion is spreading to more and more areas day by day. In addition to the clothing industry, it is of great importance to know the concept of fashion as it extends to furniture, interior design, cosmetics, electronics, automotive and food industries. International trends are set by international fashion companies. The work is usually done two years in advance and is supported by designers living in many different countries. These freelancers, living in different cities in the Far East, America and Europe, come together in trend offices and brainstorm when the stories of the season are about to unfold. Each of them bring forward their lifestyles influenced by the place, city, or country where they live, and their food and drink culture in addition to other criteria. The words that emerge from the brainstorming form the themes of that season's stories.
If you're wondering what's the hot trend in interior design in 2018, let me tell you right away: Earth colors and terracotta materials are likely to replace the light colors popular in 2017. Terracotta, a fired clay-based, brownish-red, matte ceramic material, was actually very fashionable in the 80s. But this year, unlike the 80s, they will appear in a more natural and rustic way when designing interiors. The rustic structure and matte shades of this material, which we can use in every way from vases and pots to surface coatings, will add a characteristic aesthetic and warmth to the interior design. Looking at customer trends, it is seen that materials with marble and metal visual and texture attract more attention. I also think it is important to develop products with Register Emboss surface as they are in harmony with both 2018 fashion and the natural texture of wood.
As for digitalization, which also sets trends in fashion... Digitalization has a great place and importance in popular and current design models. Each trend product goes through long and various design phases. In this context, keeping up with the digitalization process makes it easier to catch new trends in design. Thus, innovative products with user satisfaction focus can be created every day for the environments we spend time in.

The trends we used in designing furniture in the last year include modern and soft lines, functional, useful, humorous details, natural wood materials and matte and pastel colors. Of course, the biggest factor in our preference for these is consumer choices and expectations. In our furniture designs, we move forward in accordance with the requests for interior design and the structure, needs and realities of our target market. The impact of designers in this process comes when they use their personal talents to design products that fit needs and trends.
We observe that customer trends are also changing in line with these trends. The use of complementary materials in furniture such as marble and metal was not preferred by a general customer base until now. Recently, with the widespread use of wood-based materials with the appearance of metal and marble, this taboo has begun to break down. We can say that marble has started to attract more attention, especially when it is integrated with the warmth of wood in its marble appearance texture. I prefer products with Register Embossing surface a lot in my work. I can say that it is highly preferred and appreciated by consumers because it emphasizes the natural.
Cenkay Çakır: 'Although geometric digitalization in forms remains cold and virtual, it can create new trends when marble and metal looks are presented to us.'
