A Pink Feast: Pink Shower

Shedding its leaves in winter and growing fast, Pink Shower is a tree species that can grow up to 40 meters. Its pale pink and red flowers grow in clusters. Towards the end of the blooming season, the ground under the tree appears like a dazzling pink carpet. Due to its beauty and suitable size, it is preferred to create shadows in streets and parks.

Tamarind with its Unique Fruit

Tamarind of African origin, a member of the legume family, is a species grown in all tropical countries, and especially in India. With a height reaching up to 18 meters, Tamarind has yellow and reddish flowers in clusters. Its fruit, which is indispensable with its sour taste and dark color in African, Asian, and Latin American cuisines, is used mostly as a spice in salads, soups, and pickles. Its fruit which can also be consumed raw with powdered sugar is also used in the production of alcohol and sherbet.

White Thorn with its Dazzling White Flowers

White Thorn is a dwarf tree species that can reach a height of up to 15 meters and has small red fruits called as hawthorn with soft seeds. Having a unique appearance with its white flowers, White Thorn is an important source of food for insects feeding on nectar. In addition, it meets both the sheltering and food needs of many birds and mammals. In a study conducted in 2008, it was determined that White Thorn could also be used in the treatment of chronic heart failure.

A Panacea Ceylon Oak

Famous for its glossy leaves becoming reddish in March, Ceylon Oak is called as "Kusum" in Hindi. Ceylon Oak, which can live at an elevation of 700 meters, has a trunk with a grayish brown bark and sheds its leaves in winter. Its fruit is the size of small plum, and the yellow and small flowers of this tree attract the attention of bees. The kusum oil derived from its fruit is used in hair care, cooking and traditional Indian medicine for skin problems.
